This class is one of four total designed to use RBT (Reality Based Training) scenarios in real time to build both the individual team members skills and confidence as well as build an effective “team” dynamic. This is done through some basic demonstrations and classroom time at the beginning then transitioning into actual hands on training and practice by safety team members. All the scenarios used were developed from actual events in faith based organizations across the US.
Goal: To build into the church safety team the ability to train using this RBT method on their own at least once a month going forward.
Class format: We will operate with team members in their normal duty positions based on the time of the scenario. We will run scenarios at full speed, stop and debrief, then go back and walk through the same scenario to correct major flaws if needed. We are looking for you to start building reflex teamwork.
Safety Note: There will no NO REAL WEAPONS allowed inside the training area. All students will be screened through metal detection to insure compliance with this requirement. If you operate as an armed safety officer bring your normal duty gear (holster, flashlight, cuff, radio, cover garment, etc. (less any weapons). Training weapons will be supplied to participants as needed.
